Emily Baker is a Board Certified Music Therapist that has led a life filled with music and all the unique qualities that music
has to offer. Emily began taking violin lessons as a young child and by age 13 she became the youngest
member of the LaGrange Symphony Orchestra. Soon after that, Emily began attending Interlochen Arts Camp,
a prestigious liberal arts summer camp that allowed her to really concentrate on her music. While at Interlochen,
Emily discovered the field of Music Therapy and fell in love with the idea of being able help people through music.
She received a music scholarship to attend the College of Wooster in Ohio where she earned her BA in Music with an
emphasis in Music Therapy. She has also gone on to earn her Teaching Certificate in Music Education.
In 1999, Emily came back to Georgia to complete a 7 month Music
Therapy internship with the Fulton County School System. Upon completion of that internship, Emily became
the very first intern that Fulton County ever hired. She went on to work in Fulton County for the next
7 years, leading music therapy sessions for hundreds of special education students using music and music based activities to target their IEP
goals and objectives. In addition, Emily also taught string (violin, viola, cello, and bass) lessons to
numerous 4th and 5th grade students and did weekly music classes with numerous Pre-Kindergarten students
every week. She has organized annual school-wide concerts and has taken large groups of students out to
perform for the community. She believes in exposing every child to the benefits that music has to offer.
the fall of 2007, Emily decided to leave Fulton County Schools so that she could stay at home full time with her 2 children.
By word of mouth, Emily learned about the Tiny Tunes Program and was thrilled to join the staff in the fall
of 2008. She is so very excited to have the opportunity to sing with children again and is thrilled to
be doing what she loves! Emily is dedicated to the children that she works with and is very delighted to
have the chance to share her passion for music and movement with the children in her area!
